August 2024 is SLV Pride Month!

The 2024 SLV PrideFest is back and better than ever! Here is a list of activities that you can participate in for PrideFest 2024!

August 1-31, 2024 - Come see art from local LGBTQ+ artists at Milagros Coffee House 529 Main Street in Alamosa (corner of State Ave. & Main St.)  The art show will hang all month! There will be a special reception from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2. Come out and meet your next favorite artist!

August 10, 2024 - Join us for a Youth Night out (all ages welcome) where we'll be skating the day away. Enjoy fun tunes and good times! 4p-8p at the Alamosa skating rink.

August 14, 2024 - Join us for an all ages Game Night at Respawn in Del Norte. 5p-8p 

August 23, 2024 - Join us in Cole Park from 4p-6p for a low-sensory Pre-Kickoff Reading Party in the park. From 6p-10p join us for a night of dancing and celebrating Pride weekend in the valley at the Rio Grande Farm Park! DJ Astro will be mixing for the dance party. Suavecito will be performing! 

August 24th, 2024 - Dress up in your favorite Pride gear and get ready to celebrate! Compete to be the Best Dressed parade participant to win a ticket to Drag Brunch and to have bragging rights for the next year! Location meet up at the Alamosa Library parking lot. This is a walking parade, and the kick off starts at 10 a.m. 

August 24, 2024 - Come out and support the local LGBTQ+ community in a joyful celebration of love! This is will held at Cole Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This family-oriented event will have a DJ, drag, comedy, food, beer, vendors and more!

Well behaved leashed dogs welcome!

August 25, 2024 - Come out and enjoy a post PrideFest Drag Brunch at The San Luis Valley Brewing Co! Buffet style brunch is included  and a cash bar will be available. Tickets on sale soon

Miss Jessica

Jessica L’Whor/Miss jessica is one of Colorado’s top multifaceted drag personalities, 11 years in the business. A staple in Colorado’s queer, drag, and nightlife scene, as well as a nationally recognized entertainer. Jessica L’Whor is a one of a kind business queen proving you can be successful by simply doing what you love to do….and believing it! Jessica LOVES her job. Creating a business that focuses on community, hard work, kindness, individuality, and leadership.

Aluna Del Rey

Aluna Del Rey "The Moon Goddess" has been doing drag performing for 7 years now and is a full time drag queen with no plans of stoping. When she's not performing she's collecting/ listening to records and models on the side for fun. She's been coming to SLV Pride for many years now and excited to be back again for SLV Pride 2024.

MaveRick

MaveRick is a dapper, suave and sexy Drag King.  He is Northern Rocky Shining Star 2016, Mister Rocky Mountain Shining Star 2017, Mister Gay Pride of All Colorado 2018-19,

MX Gay Pride of All Colorado 23-24, The Drag Daddy of Northern Colorado

. MaveRick has performed all over the state of Colorado and parts of Wyoming. He is a family man, both in real life and in Drag Life. He performs monthly with the Glitter Drag Troupe and is a guest for many monthly and special shows throughout the year. 

Suavecito

Suavecito is new to the drag scene and has been keeping it going just a few months shy of a year now. Originally from the San Luis valley and brings swag to the stage and wants to continue to growth in being a king. Music and dancing has always been apart of Suavecitos life. When off the stage you can find Suavecito at the tattoo parlor or being a family man.

Carly Quinn

The Clown Princess of Albuquerque herself, Carly Rico Quinn is home grown and home grazed from Alamosa herself! She is the only queen in all of new mexico to host karaoke weekly with her show "Carlyoke!" She also is half of Albuquerque's own public access show "Queerly Disturbed!"

CHEER COLORADO

CHEER Colorado is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to show up for, positively impact, and further strengthen the Colorado LGBTQIA+ community. Their awe-inspiring cheer performances, creative philanthropy, and dedicated volunteers have not only earned them the trust and partnership of the local LGBTQIA+ community but also allowed them to support it in return through over $116,000 in donations since their 2017 founding

Absolution is a rock band from Antonito, Colorado, featuring Liz Samora (vocals), Erik Lucero (guitar), Alex Flores (bass), and Matt Samora (drums). You may have heard of them as the winner of ALMA's Battle of the Bands in 2023 and from their performance last year at Pridefest. Their music, known for heavy guitar riffs, powerful drumming, and emotive vocals, explores themes of loss and empowerment. Find them on Spotify and iTunes and immerse yourselves in the original sound of Absolution! Follow them on Facebook to keep up to date on future releases and performances!

Astro

DJ Astro is an american open format DJ performer and producer from Colorado who has invaded the stages of clubs and festivals accross america since 2020. Also the founder of Bemore Entertainment (est. 2015), Astro has worked with well known celebrities including Bizzy Bone of Bone Thugz-n-Harmony, Shaquille O'neal (DJ Deisel), Pitbull, T.I., and DaBaby; and on many projects such as Shaq's Funhouse Miami, Gronks Beach, Supernatural Festival, and the Denver 420 Festival.
